Here’s some crazy three-wheel racers carving through the dirt at the Dutch Oldebroek Grand Prix during the Sidecar Motocross World Championship. Yes, there is a Sidecar Motocross World Championship, and its a real thing.

Believe it or not, but 15 different sidecar Grand Prixs are held in nine different country starting in April and ending in September. The FIM sanctioned series has been in competition since 1980 and this year’s race in Oldebroek, Netherlands proved to be quite entertaining.

Every Grand Prix weekend is split into two races, both held on the same day. This means that the 2015 season, with its fifteen Grands Prix has 30 races. The two main races are in addition to the multiple qualifying stages that kick-off each race weekend. Races generally lasts for about 30 minutes and the two races on a weekend get combined to determine an overall winner. Up to 30 bikes are allowed to compete at any given time making for quite a packed race track.

Netherland’s native Etienne Bax, took home first place in both races at Oldebroek, who now sits at the number two spot overall for the 2015 Championship. If you missed this one, no worries because there are 10 more races left in the season and there’s sure to be one happening in an European town near you.
